At COMMSAL we are proud to have been part of one of the most outstanding infrastructure projects in Europe: the Fehmarnbelt rail tunnel, which will connect Germany and Denmark. This ambitious project, designed to improve European connectivity and mobility, is a real technical and logistical challenge.
Our contribution consisted of manufacturing the main structures for the formwork of the special tunnel elements. These steel structures, with a height of 7.3 metres, form the modules that will serve as support for the upper slab of the tunnel's railway segments.
Last week the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) was carried out in collaboration with SOLDAVAL SOLDADURAS PROFESIONALES VALENCIANAS, responsible for the manufacturing of the formwork panels, and Rúbrica Engineering, who supervised the whole process. During this test, the quality of the materials was verified and the assembly procedure was optimised, guaranteeing maximum safety in the future on-site installation.
We would also like to thank the involvement of the FLC and MEVA teams, whose technical advice and expertise have been essential in this phase of the project. This joint work not only demonstrates our ability to tackle major technical challenges, but also reinforces our commitment to excellence in highly complex international projects.
We are proud to have contributed to this landmark project and look forward to the completion of an infrastructure that will mark a turning point in European engineering.
